Recommended Kitten Series
 

All kittens need be on some type of flea & tick prevention.  At Oak Pointe Veterinary Care we carry a selection of effective flea & tick prevention products. 


Revolution is our favorite product for kittens & cats, it protects against fleas, ear mites, heartworm disease & intestinal parasites.

6 Weeks:
Physical Exam
FVRCP Vaccine
Fecal Exam - please bring a fresh fecal sample with you!
All kittens will receive a dose of wormer at this time.

9 Weeks:
Physical Exam
Test all kittens for FELV, FIV, & FIP - all of these diseases are fatal in cats.
FVRCP Vaccine
Fecal exam - if fecal test was positive at 6 weeks.
Another dose of wormer will be given at this time.
Its time to start your kitten on flea prevention monthly!

12 Weeks:
Physical Exam
FVRCP/FELV Vaccine
FIP Vaccine
FIV Vaccine - if cat will be outdoors
Another dose of wormer will be given at this time.
Continue applying flea prevention

15 Weeks:
Physical Exam
FVRCP/FELV Booster Vaccine
FIP Booster Vaccine
FIV Booster Vaccine
1 Year Rabies Vaccine
Continue applying flea prevention
Another dose of wormer will be given at this time.

Your pet is now old enough to be be Spayed or Neutered.  
Females should be spayed before their first heat cycle.
Declawing is also available at this time. 
Front paws only are recommended, but all four paws can be done if requested. 

Annual Wellness Visits for Adult Cats:
Physical Exam
FVRCP/FELV vaccine
FIP vaccine
FIV vaccine if needed
Rabies Vaccine - once every three years after initial vaccine
Semi-Annual Fecal Exam Please bring a fresh fecal sample with you.
Deworming every 6 months
Monthly flea prevention.





Recommended Puppy Series

6 Weeks:
Physical Exam
DHPP Vaccine
Fecal Exam - please bring a fresh fecal sample with you.
All puppies will be dewormed at this time.

Puppies will be started on monthly heartworm, intestinal parasite and flea/tick prevention.

9 Weeks:
Physical Exam
DHPP Booster Vaccine
CIT Booster Vaccine
Fecal Exam - if positive at 6 weeks. Please bring a fresh sample with you.
Another dose of wormer will be given at this time.
Continue on heartworm, flea & tick prevention monthly.

12 Weeks:
Physical Exam
DHPP Booster Vaccine
CIT Booster Vaccine
Another dose of wormer will be given at this time.
Continue on heartworm, flea & tick prevention monthly.

15 Weeks:
Physical Exam
DHLPP Vaccine
Intranasal CIT Vaccine
1 Year Rabies Vaccine Rabies vaccines are good for three years after initial vaccine.
Another dose of wormer will be given at this time.
Continue on heartworm, flea & tick prevention monthly. 

Your pet is now old enough to be be Spayed or Neutered.  Females should be spayed before their first heat cycle.


  Annual Wellness Visit for Adult Dogs:
  
  DHPP Vaccine
  CIT Vaccine 
  Intranasal CIT every 6 months 
  Rabies Vaccine once every three years after initial 1yr vaccine.
  Heartworm test at six months of age, and annually after that.

Continue on Heartworm Prevention monthly all year round
Semi-annual Fecal Exam - please bring a fresh fecal sample with you.
Deworm every 6 months
Continue on flea & tick prevention monthly
